Wentzville School District Special Sports and Police Dept. raise money for Special Olympics

Wentzville School District Special Sports teamed up with the Wentzville Police Department recently to help raise over $1,700 for Special Olympics Missouri at a “Tip A Cop” event held at the Wentzville McDonalds.

Police officers served patrons, bussed tables and mingled with patrons in hopes to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics. Athletes were on hand to assist the officers and share stories about what Special Olympics has meant to them. Tip A Cop events were also held at the Wentzville Applebees and Culvers last week, but those totals aren’t in yet. The funds raised at Tip A Cop events support the Special Olympics Torch Run and Special Olympics Missouri’s sports training and athletic competition for 15,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities in Missouri.
