Teams needed for 5th Annual Liberty High School Golf Classic

The Liberty High School Golf team started off the season setting goals for themselves. The goal was to win the conference tournament., depth. They have several players who are able to help win matches and compete very The JV team captured a 1st place finish in the the conference tournament, while the Varsity finished 2nd overall. The team was able to achieve their goal based on one of their strengths well in tournaments.

The team is proud of their finishes this year with highlights such as Sam Scognamiglio finishing in 1st place at the Zumwalt South JV tournament, Hyatt Hines finished top 10 at Bulldog Battle, one on the top tournaments in the state. The team finished 3rd at the Warrantor Invitational, with Andrew Beckerdite finishing in 15th and Sam Schreiner finishing 8th. The team finished 3rd at the Bogey Hills tournament, with Andrew Beckerdite finishing 6th.

The Varsity team was comprised of 4 seniors this year, that all have played a vital role in the team, Andrew Beckerdite, Andy Jorris, Kyle Becker (KB) and Mikie Rybak. Liberty’s number 1 player this year has been Junior, Hyatt Hines. He goes out in the #1 spot and helps the team day in and day out with consistent play and low scores. Sam Schreiner, a sophomore, who has played varisty all year, has been a solid player bringing in low rounds all year as well. Both Beckerdite and Hines competed in Districts and received the honor of All Conference Golfers, while Andrew also was named as an All District Golfer. Both golfers will continue on to play in Sectionals with a chance to move on to the State tournament in Kansas City.

The JV squad proves that the Eagles will be strong in the future. They are undefeated this year, and have several players that have their eyes on moving to varsity, and bringing home additional wins.

If you would like to help the Liberty High School Golf team as well as other teams, and programs at Liberty High School, we invite you to participate in the 5th Annual Liberty High School Golf Classic. The tournament take places at Winghaven Country Club, Liberty’s home course, on June 18th, 2018. The format is a 4 person scramble with a shot gun start at 12:30 pm. Registration is from 11:00-12:00 with lunch provided before starting. The evening will finish with an awards dinner and auction. There will be flight winners, skins competition, pink ball raffle, and closest to the pin on the front and back 9.
