Marcella G. Hall, born May 25, 1926, passed away peacefully November 19, 2018, at her home in Lake Saint Louis, at the age of 92.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert M. Hall Sr. DC, her son Robert M. Hall Jr. DC, and precious great-granddaughter Maura Carolyn Wilcoxen. She is survived by a brother, Frank Carr of Chicago, her daughters Janet (Mike) Vontz, Barbara (Gavin) Ashley, Marlene (Dale) Wilcoxen and Karen (Fred) Klar, all residing in St. Charles County. Eleven grandchildren, Drew (Lindsay), Kyle (Lauren), Curtis, Eileen (Dave) Bresnahan, Kevin (Shanna) Wilcoxen, Lauren, Lana & Sam Klar, Max, Robert (Amanda) & Kate Vontz and 6 great-grandchildren will also dearly miss her.
Marcella went door-to-door with a petition to create the St. Charles County Library which eventually merged with the city library. She served on the St. Charles City-County Library Board of Directors for many years. She was an election judge and politically active behind the scenes her entire life. She was a charter member of the ladies’ Sinawik Club.
Marcy, originally from Cicero, Illinois, became a Cardinal fan upon moving to Missouri, but was elated for her brother, Frank, when the Cubs won the World Series. Marcy was famous for her superb chocolate chip cookies.
A private memorial service was held at Jefferson Barracks on December 10, 2018.
Marcella’s favorite charity was the Salvation Army. If you walk by a red kettle this holiday season and have some extra change, please throw it in and say a little prayer for Marcy. She would love that.
