Since the last day of the 2019 St Charles County Fair, the board has been working diligently to bring you the best fair we could in 2020. Over the last several weeks, we have been brainstorming on a daily basis to try and bring you a fair despite the many uncertainties in our area due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We do not feel it is feasible to follow the CDC guidelines close enough as they pertain to social distancing, wearing of protective coverings and decontaminating surfaces used by the several thousand of our fair patrons. After many hours of consideration and discussions with our many vendors and volunteers who make the St Charles County Fair, we are saddened to announce the cancelation of the 2020 St Charles County Fair, to the general public.
Since day one, the St Charles County Fair has been about the support of the local 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) youth and their families. We will be considering an exhibitor only event this year which will allow the local youth to highlight their projects they have spent many months preparing for the 2020 fair. This will include all items from livestock to home economics exhibits. This type of event will not come without some very difficult challenges and some very strict attendance requirements for our exhibitors and their families. Our goal, as always, is to put together a safe and learning experience for our fair patrons. If you are an exhibitor of our fair, please continue to follow our Facebook page and web site for additional information and requirements for this year’s event. If you are one of our loyal fair patrons, please continue to follow us also for updates on the 2021 St Charles County Fair to be held July 27 – 31, 2021.
