On Monday, July 29. 2019 the St. Charles County Police Department arrested two subjects at a residence in the 700 block of Hwy D for their involvement in an early morning home invasion in Warren County, MO and an assault on a Wright City Police Officer. Upon further investigation, the St. Charles County Police Department believed a third suspect was still in the area and continued to investigate into the afternoon when the third suspect was located entering a vehicle. St. Charles County Police Department attempted to stop the suspect vehicle who then fired shots at the officer and fled on foot to a nearby wood line. Shortly thereafter, at 6:58 hours, law enforcement was advised a gold colored Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was stolen from the 3300 block of Hwy F and left the area. Multiple officers in the area setup a perimeter in an attempt to locate the suspect vehicle.
At approximately 7:26 p.m. an officer from the Wentzville Police Department located the suspect vehicle that was “just stolen” in unincorporated St. Charles County. A WPD officer located the suspect vehicle which is described as a 2002 Chevrolet Pickup Truck Pewter in color. A WPD Officer activated emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle, which failed to yield and the officer pursued. After an extended vehicle pursuit the suspect shot multiple shots at WPD Officers and stop sticks were deployed which successfully deflated the suspect’s passenger side front and rear tires. Officers exchanged gun fire with the suspect multiple times with the suspect sliding off the road into a ditch on the north side of West Meyer Road at Hwy W. The suspect was taken into custody, first aid was rendered on scene, and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No other citizens or officers were injured in this incident.
Elijah W. Moore M/W 02-12-1982 was charged with Assault 1st Degree; Armed Criminal Action; Unlawful Use of a Weapon; Resisting Arrest; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Tampering with Motor Vehicle. These charges have a $100,000 bond, 10% is not authorized.
