The Child Center, a nonprofit responding to child abuse by reducing the trauma to children and their families is pleased to announce the hiring of Stefanie Kaiser for the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Coordinator.

Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) refers to a range of crimes and activities involving the sexual abuse, trafficking or exploitation of a child for the financial benefit of any person or in exchange for anything of value (including monetary and non-monetary benefits) given or received by any person.

Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Sex Trafficking rates are higher than ever and happening in our communities – often going unnoticed or unidentified. The issue of Sexual Exploitation and Child Sex Trafficking is very complex and does not typically look the way movies or media make it appear. Understanding the intricacies of Sexual Exploitation and Child Sex Trafficking will assist in creating opportunities for prevention, identification and an appropriate response to all victims and their families.

“Stefanie is the perfect fit for this much needed position,” said Amy Robins, Forensic Services Program Director. “Through her work with The Child Center and collaboration with existing resources we will truly ensure victims of Child Exploitation and Child Sex Trafficking have the best services offered to them by a well-trained Multidisciplinary Team.”

Stefanie Kaiser retired from the St. Charles Police Department this past year after working alongside the men and women of that agency. Kaiser had multiple assignments throughout her law enforcement career that spanned almost 30 years. The last 16 years she served as Detective primarily focused on crimes against children.

“The most meaningful work I have done over my years in Law Enforcement was my time working as a Special Victims Detective and working for child victims” shared Stephanie Kaiser. This position with The Child Center allows for me to come full circle in my career and continue serving our most innocent victims – children.”

Kaiser will be responsible for developing and implementing a Multi-jurisdictional Taskforce to ensure that victims of Child Exploitation and Child Sex Trafficking have a coordinated response in all 14 counties that The Child Center serves.
