Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) St. Charles recently announced that Carol Felzien joined the board of directors in June to provide public relations and marketing support for the non-profit, all-volunteer agency. Felzien is the director of administration at the Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise located in the Plaster School of Business & Entrepreneurship at Lindenwood University.
“We are delighted to have Carol on the VIM board,” said Chad Abel, board chair, “given her more than 30 years of experience in the public relations arena – both corporate and non-profit. She has already helped us develop an agency newsletter, and we look forward to her expertise and support in marketing our fundraising events such as our annual golf tournament coming up on August 15 at Whitmoor Country Club,” he said.
According to Abel, Volunteers in Medicine serves the health care needs of St. Charles County adult residents, who are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or Private Health Insurance, and whose household income meets the organization’s Federal poverty guidelines.
Abel, CRPC®, a private wealth advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., assumed the position of VIM’s board chair earlier this year, and Mark Renken, a health care consultant and advisor who formerly lead the creation of the first Managed Care Organization for SSM Health Care, accepted the position of board treasurer.
The agency’s clinic is located at 1039 South Duchesne in St. Charles and can be reached on Mondays and Wednesday by calling 636-724-4848 or by visiting online at www.vimstc.org.
