The Mid America Teen Community Emergency Response Team (TEEN CERT) will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 11:00 am  to 4:00 pm at the Progress Park Center, located at 968 Meyer Road in Wentzville, MO.

“Mid America TEEN CERT is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations,” said Mark Rosenblum, Program Director. “This blood drive is our way of giving staff, colleagues and neighbors an opportunity to help save lives.”

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.

“Hosting a blood drive coincides with Our team’s core values of giving back to the community,” said Rosenblum. “With a simple blood donation, we have the ability to help save the life of someone who could be a coworker, loved one or neighbor. We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs.”

According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.
