On October 4, 2013, during MPCA’s annual Clinical and Quality Conference, Missouri’s Community Health Centers received some well-deserved recognition, among them Crider Health Center.
At the Clinical Quality Awards luncheon at the Hilton Convention Center in Branson, Missouri, Crider Health Center was honored for providing outstanding, high quality healthcare by MPCA’s Center for Health Care Quality. Surrounded by applause from Community Health Center colleagues and partners across the state, members of Crider Health Center stood up to celebrate the success of their hard work together. It was no small feat. Winners of these awards had to reach or exceed a standardized national goal percentage set by the MPCA Medical Director network (based on Healthy People 2020, National Quality Forum, NCQA, HEDIS, etc.) on one of three levels: Bronze (achieving 4 of 8 measures), Silver (5 of 8 measures), and Gold (6 out 8 measures).
Clinical measures for 2012 encompassed diabetes control, hypertension control, cervical cancer screening, weight assessment and counseling for children and adolescents, adult weight screening and follow-up, tobacco use assessment, and tobacco cessation intervention. Crider Health Center was awarded for achieving a Silver Level standard. The achievement represented by this award confirms how much Crider Health Center cares that patients of Community Health Centers receive the highest quality of care when they step through the doors of their facility.
The MPCA Center for Health Care Quality houses training and technical assistance programs and quality improvement initiatives. Most recently, Center for Health Care Quality staff provided consulting and coaching services to assist health centers with Primary Care Medical Home recognition from the National Committee on Quality Assurance.
