One of the premier military programs in America has requested the assistance of Mid America TEEN CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), which is based in St. Charles County, MO.
Camp Liberty, in Battleground, AL, is a program for teens that have a serious interest in a possible military or first responder career. Those who attend receive a unique experience that helps improve their motivation, leadership skills, confidence, discipline or just their overall fitness.
Working with young men and women in a uniformed environment, the camp offers the most realistic military experience available, attracting young people nationwide and internationally.
Mid America TEEN CERT will train a class of Cadet Medics over the weekend of July 3-August 1, 2021 at the camp in Battleground. Several of the teams' instructors and staff will assist program director, Mark Rosenblum, during the 24-hour course. ìWhen Colonel [Joseph] Land contacted me last year, I was intrigued by the challenge of training military medical cadets," said Rosenblum. "Because of society's response to COVID, there were restrictions on the camp that forced us to move the training to 2021. But a few of us made a trip down there last July, and decided to do the class."
Both Camp Liberty and Mid America TEEN CERT have worked with several other programs, including Boy/Girl Scouts, Sea Cadets, Civil Air Patrol, American Heritage Girls, JROTC, 4-H, Young Marines, and Explorers.
"After I announced to our team that we might travel to Alabama to teach TEEN CERT to their Cadet Medics," says Rosenblum, "the response was enthusiastic. Several of our staff and team members are willing to make the 8-hour drive down there with me. We have the best team; we're like family, only better!"
