American Heritage Girls Troop MO 3130 and the Wentzville Fire Protection District are hosting an Adult and TEEN CERT emergency preparedness training the weekend of November 6, 7 and 8, 2020. The course hours are Friday from 6pm-10pm, Saturday 8am-10pm, and Sunday from 10am-3pm.
The training will be taught through the Mid America TEEN CERT program at WFPD Station #3, located at 1146 Clinton Prinster Memorial Drive in Foristell, MO.
Scouts will be allowed to tent camp on the field to the south of the firehouse, however it is recommended that social distancing is practiced. Troops will be responsible for their own Scouts.
CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training teaches you lifelong readiness and first-response skills. Hands-on practice and realistic exercises prepare you for unexpected emergencies in your community. Students learn how to provide basic medical aid, search for and rescue victims safely, and collect disaster intelligence to support first responder efforts. Leadership skills empower you to safely respond to an emergency and assist victims without endangering yourself or others.
This course is open to residents of Wentzville and surrounding communities, schools and service groups or organizations, such as Boy/Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls, HOSA, NHS, 4-H, etc. For more information or to register, please contact Christie Schindler at firstname.lastname@example.org.
