All are cordially invited to celebrate America at a free patriotic concert – “In God We Trust” at Dardenne Presbyterian Church. The program is being presented by the Chancel Choir, instrumentalists, and guest musicians from our community Sunday, June 23 at 3 p.m. in the Christian Life Center.
Under the direction of Kathy Fenske, Band Director at Dardenne Presbyterian, the concert band will perform several pieces including “American Patrol,” “76 Trombones,” and “Stars and Stripes Forever.” They will also accompany the 45-voice choir, directed by Stephanie Liesman, Traditional Music Director at Dardenne Presbyterian. Selections include “Our America” (a medley which includes “Yankee Doodle,” “ Yankee Doodle Boy,” “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “This Land Is Your Land,” and “God Bless the U.S.A.”), “Salute to the Armed Forces,” “ America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America.” Other selections include “In God We Trust,” “In God Alone” and “God of Our Fathers.”
Quilts of Valor of Eastern Missouri will recognize and present quilts to veterans who have served in combat in previous wars or conflicts.
This is the fourth year a patriotic concert at Dardenne Presbyterian Church has been presented prior to July 4, and attendance has averaged 600 coming from all over St. Charles County.
Members of Quilts of Valor of Western Missouri will also be present and recognized with a beautiful handmade quilt (if they have not already received one), and any veteran in attendance who has served in combat. Many quilts were given in the past recognizing veterans from WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, Gulf War and other Mid-East conflicts.
Veterans may contact the Church at 636-561-4347 or Brenda Kenny at 636-699-2957 for additional information.
Light refreshments will be served after the concert. Invite and bring your relatives, friends and neighbors to attend this celebration of America.
