“We’ve worked hard to build a community that offers safety and security, exemplary schools, affordable and diverse housing, and expanding employment opportunities. We’ve worked hard to build a place that people want to call ‘home,’” said Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione.
Last year, the National Council for Home Safety and Security (NCHSS) ranked Wentzville as the 15th Safest City in Missouri. Just last month, however, NCHSS presented its 2018 Safest Cities awards. This time, Wentzville moved up 10 ranks and now holds the designation of “Fifth Safest City in Missouri.” The rankings also place Wentzville as the second safest city in St. Charles County.
To identify the safest cities in Missouri, NCHSS reviewed the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics along with its own population data and internal research. Cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI and cities with populations under 10,000 were not included. The remaining cities were ranked based on the number of reported violent crimes and property crimes per 1,000 people. To read the full NCHSS report, please visit http://bit.ly/NCHSS-safestcities2018.
